This course offers a possible pathway to further studies for students who did not complete their secondary education.

The Certificate II in General Education for Adults assists you to develop your reading, writing, maths and employability skills to prepare you for a further study pathway. The course caters for a wide range of students within a supportive, flexible, adult learning environment.

Successful completion of this course will meet the entry requirements for most Certificate II or III TAFE courses.

All applicants will be required to undertake literacy and numeracy testing to determine the appropriate course level for entry. Applicants who successfully complete the testing will then undertake an interview to ensure they are suited to the adult learning environment and can achieve their goals.

Please note this is course is not equivalent to completing years 10, 11 or 12.

Community Hubs

The Midland and Ellenbrook courses are delivered at community hubs in conjunction with external agencies and will only run with sufficient enrolments.

This course is open to all ages, however in line with the Department of Education's Alternatives to full-time schooling policy, to study a youth program starting in:

All General Education students are required to participate in an interview and assessment as part of the application process. This will help determine if the course you have chosen is a good fit for you and at an appropriate level. Please note we have limited places for our courses and attending the interview does not guarantee you a place.

All applicants for Midland - Swan City Youth Club must be 15-24 years old.

All applicants for Ellenbrook Youth Centre must be 15-25 years old. Priority is given to students from Ellenbrook and surrounds.

You'll be able to access your personal timetable (find out how on our Timetables page), once you have paid your fees. In the meantime the information below provides an indication of the time commitment required to complete this course, depending on available study options.

The course delivery is face to face three (3) days a week between 9:00am and 4:00pm.
